Psalms Chapter 104. God is Majestic!
Good morning FRIENDS and thank you for all your inspiring comments!!!!
The psalmist starts by saying God is to be praised. He states that God is very Great, clothed with Splendor and Majesty. Then pretty much the whole chapter is focused on giving examples of his Greatness, Splendor, and Majesty.
– God created all things: the heavens and the Earth and everything in the Earth.
– He created all plants, trees, water, food, animals, humans.
– God feeds the animals and gives food to humankind. Even the lion, most fierce among the animals, is fed by God.
So knowing that God is very Great and clothed in Splendor and Majesty should drive us to praise him more and trust him more.
There is a challenge for this day that we be observant of all things today.
1. May every animal we see today (on land, in the air or in the water) remind us that God created it and he provides food for it.
2. May every human we see, remind us that God created them and has a purpose for their lives. They have value and worth. Let this fact change how we think of each individual whether it be someone we like or be someone that annoys us, or someone who continues to make bad decisions for their lives. Love the person. Pray for the person and thank God for them.
3. For every created thing you see: water, tree, plants, etc. Let it be a reminder of God's provision for the world. Such things provide food and shelter for all living things.
This great God deserves our thankfulness and our praises. And if God is willing to take care of his creation, should we not praise him more and trust him more for our lives?
