Psalms Chapter 101. More of Jesus less of sin.
Another good morning!!!
This is a psalm from David and in this psalm he wants nothing to do with evil. He uses words such as, “I will not tolerate” and “I will put an end to”. His heart and passion is for the Lord:
1. He wants to live a blameless (righteous) life and,
2. He wants to hang around others who are living and desiring a blameless (righteous) life along with those who are faithful to the Lord. I am reminded of what 1st Corinthians 15:33 says, “Do not be misled, bad company corrupts good morals.”
This chapter shows me, it's not enough to hate evil, but there has to be a love for what is good and a passion to pursue the Lord. So my heart's desire is to live for the Lord, a life pleasing to him while surrounding myself in Christian fellowship so I am encouraged to stay faithful to the Lord and not compromise my faith. I need that accountability.
Staying away from evil is not enough: rather pursue passionately for the heart of God and pleasing him. To do so, opens the door to the Lord to work how he desires, in and through our lives. My heart desires to hate evil while pursuing with more passion for the heart of God.
