Psalms chapter 99. Does Jesus reign in my heart?
Good morning All!!! Continued thoughts and prayers!!
Once again the psalmist starts with, “The Lord Reigns!”
The question worth asking: does God reign in my heart and life? To reign in my heart and life requires total surrender on my part. You can't really surrender to someone in battle if you're still going to try and maintain control of a certain area. To surrender to someone requires giving up everything. Surrender to God is letting go of our will and our desires and our passions and our everything for his will and desires. He loves us and has our best interest in his hands. But we can't receive all that he has for us if we're going to try and hang on to some of the things in this world. We have to let go of everything so that he can accomplish all that he wants to do in and through our lives.
A passage that gives a picture of surrendering over to the Lord is Galatians 2:20
“I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live but Christ lives in me.”
Christ can't live in us and have control of all aspects of our lives if we're going to try and hang on to certain areas. Before we can receive all he has for us we have to surrender it all.
He wants it all: Our families. Our homes. Our jobs. Our ministries. Our marriages. Our pursuit of a marriage. Our relationships. Our thought processes. Are anger. Our addictions. Our weaknesses. Our strengths. He wants it all.
The verse finishes with:
“The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the son of God, who Loved Me and gave himself for me.”
A God who loves us gave himself for me because he loves me. Now he's asking me to give everything to him for his greatness and His glory.
I Surrender All!!!
