Psalms Chapter 83. A heart for the Lost.
This is a typical Psalm where the psalmist cries out to God because of their enemies plotting against them. An interesting comment the psalmist makes is he wants to see God attack the enemy in such a way that they come to the realization that God is the one true God and they are then compelled to seek him as Lord.
This is an element that I feel we don't see that often. I'm accustomed to hearing people pray for deliverance from their enemies. But rarely for the Salvation of their enemies soul.
May we all have that same heart for the lost!
A prayer I have repeated over and over again is, “God give me your heart for the lost.  Give me a passion to see the lost come to know you as Lord and Savior. Lord, may I weep over the Lost.”
Jesus has given us all a commission to reach lost souls. To build his kingdom. But the least concerned we are for lost souls, the less motivated will be to reach the Lost. We are surrounded by Lost Souls.
*Some are out right enemies of the Cross of Christ.  God I pray for their souls.
*Some are “good” people with “good” qualities but lost.  God I pray for their souls.
*Some are trapped in sin and can't see their need for the Lord. God I pray for their souls.
*Some are fence riders. They act like Christians when they are around Christians but act like the devil when around their peers.  God I pray for their souls.
God, I couldn't be more serious with my prayer: break my heart for the Lost. May I weep over the lost as you did coming into Jerusalem in Luke 19:41. Help me see the lost through your eyes and your heart that I am compelled to love them, pray for them, and share with them the message of Hope… Jesus!
Amen!
