Psalms Chapter 79. I'm in Desperate Need!
Good morning Everyone!  Remember that You Are Awesome!!!
In this chapter the enemies have killed many Jews in Jerusalem and demolished their buildings. The psalmist declares to the Lord that they are in DESPERATE NEED.
My mind goes back to the coronavirus pandemic. How many people were (and still are) in desperate need? How many millions lost their jobs. How many lost income in one way or another? Stock prices had hit all-time lows. First time responders and those in the medical field were/are fighting a battle that we don't understand. Many of them were sick from being exposed while others responders were dying. Those in the medical field were isolated from their families. Some were sleeping in their cars. I'm sure they asked the same question that the psalmist asked: How Long Lord?
We all have desperate needs at one time or another. Our “desperate” need may be different than someone else's but to us, it is DESPERATE!  During the Coronavirus one of my relatives lost her job at a restaurant. She complained about it and I prayed with her and continued to pray for her to find a job.  I almost wondered if she could really find one during the desperate times. She called Karin and I one night to tell us that she got a job at Sheetz! She was very happy and proud of herself. I told her I had been praying for her and what a great praise for the Lord. She was so appreciative for the prayers, and she's not a follower of Christ.
We are surrounded by people every day who are in desperate need. They need love and encouragement and hope for today and for tomorrow. We are to be Jesus's light in this dark desperate world. How could you encourage people today? Call someone. Message someone. Reach out.  Take time from your busy schedule and touch a life!  Do something to encourage and put Love and Hope into someone's life.
I am reminded of Matthew 5:16 “In the same way, let your light shine before people that they may see your good deeds and end up praising our Father who is in heaven.”
