Psalm chapter 53. Am I a God seeker?
This chapter speaks of two main groups of people.
1. Fools: those are the ones who declare there is no God. They are corrupt. They take advantage of people. They are selfish. They don't call on the Lord.
2. Seekers of God: These are those who seek God through a relationship with Jesus which results into a change life from sin to righteousness. Galatians 3:26 says, “We are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus.” If we ended with that verse it would sound as if it's just a mere thought with the mind. “I believe in Jesus” or “I have faith in Jesus”. Such statements are mere words with the mind. Such words have value not when they come from the mind but when they come from the heart.
Verse 27 says, “For all of you who were baptized into Christ, have closed yourselves with Christ.” and being clothed with Christ means you've taken on the righteousness of Christ.
James 2:19 says the same thing, “You Believe there is only one God. Good! Even the demons believe that and shudder.” The demons believe but will be cast into a lake of fire because they have no changed life. They delight into evil. They have not changed their lives. They have not put on the righteousness of Christ.
2nd Corinthians 5:21 states that because of what Jesus did for us at the cross, we can become the righteousness of Christ.
1st Peter 2:24 also says that Jesus took our sin at the cross so we can die to sin and live to righteousness.
2nd Corinthians 6:14 says, “Therefore if anyone is in Christ they are a new person. The old person is gone and the new person has come.”
Ask yourself this question: How am I doing? Am I a true seeker of the Lord?
Then ask yourself this question: What would others think? Would they say I am a true seeker of the Lord?
Let's turn over our whole lives to the Lord so we can become like him in our words and deeds.
