Psalms chapter 39. God's Kingdom or our own kingdom.
Verse 5 says, “each man's life is but a breath.”
So life is very short. Plus we don't know when the end of our years will come. So if we are only on Earth for a short time, then let's spend it wisely. Let's spend it for the Lord. Let's put our energy in Him and not the things of this world. Think about it! What takes up most of our energy? What consumes most of our time? Are we building God's kingdom or our own kingdom? God's Kingdom lasts forever but our own kingdom will die with us.
God's Kingdom:
1. Matthew 6:33 says to “Seek first the Kingdom of God and His Righteousness…” To seek God's kingdom first is not to be worried about our money and possessions because once we start the focus merely on money and owning stuff, we start to lose focus on what's really important and that's our developing relationship with Jesus.  WORRY kills or stops the pursuit of God's kingdom because we focus too much on our own kingdom: money and stuff.
2. Our energy needs to be on a developing relationship with Jesus.
– we need to focus on righteousness as said in Matthew 6:33 which we can learn a lot about from God's Word.
– spending time with God becomes so important to us. Luke 5:16 says, “But Jesus often withdrew to lonely places to pray.”
– surrounding ourselves with Christian influence is important so we don't get sidetracked with the things of this world. 1st Corinthians 15:33 says, “Do not be misled, bad company corrupts good morals or good character.”
– loving people, John 13:34-35, becomes a priority and is demonstrated through our meeting of needs, Matthew 25:31-46. It's learning to treat people as if they are Jesus himself and not limited to just our friends.  We do this for God's glory and not our own.
– it's sharing the Gospel of Jesus with our words. 2nd Timothy 3:1 says, “I give you this charge, preach the Word!” Time is short! We have to get the word out so souls can be saved!!!
Evaluate your own time and energy! Is it all about God's Kingdom or our own kingdom?
