Psalm Chapter 12. Where is everybody?
The first and last verse of this chapter are disheartening.
1. Verse 1 says, “No one is faithful anymore.”
2. Verse 8 says, “…the wicked honor what is a vile.”
We live in times where Christianity is increasingly seen as a hateful religion or just not necessary. We live in a time when all beliefs and feelings are to be embraced as true and acceptable. We live in a time when what was once seen as vile before God is now proclaimed as acceptable or honored behavior. Such vile behaviors are even being embraced by certain Christian denominations or individuals.
Such examples of vile behavior being honored are:
Homosexuality, transgenders, and abortion. These three behaviors were once seen as vile, but now are very acceptable and honored.
One of the candidates running for president has an ad being aired that he cares for the life of every child: meaning every child should be protected from those being killed by guns. The ad pulls on the heart string of each person. I admire that he wants to protect our children from being killed by people with guns, but how contradictory is his statement as he is fighting for abortion. In other words, He cares for the life of a child yet he doesn't care for the life of a child. Doesn't make sense.
Being a pedophile or having sex with animals are two behaviors being entertained by certain law makers in certain countries who are deciding whether or not to legalize such behaviors.
And as I said, even churches or individual Christians are embracing the lies of the world as they honor what is vile.
God, by your grace, help me not to compromise my beliefs. Help me stand up for your Truth no matter what the consequences are. Help me to keep surrounding myself with your Truth so I don't let the world water down the Truth in my mind and heart. May I stay committed to the church, stay committed to reading your Word, stay committed to fellowshipping with other Christians.
