Job Chapter 21.  Don't have such a defeated attitude.
Job is very frustrated with his friends being so vicious with their words and lack of comfort. In his frustration he tells them to listen very carefully to what he has to say in hopes that they will grasp understanding of his words. Then Job says, I know when I'm done talking you'll just start mocking me again.
Job is not optimistic of them turning around and being God's comforters and showing sympathy for his life circumstances and pain.
This made me think of the countless times I've heard people say, my family member or my friend is so far from God they'll never change.
But you know what? God can change people, even the most hardcore, the most stubborn, and most resistant! We never know who God will call to Himself and who will respond. So rather than have a defeated attitude, I will pray for the impossible because with God nothing is impossible. I will continue with my prayers! I won't give up!
Daniel 4:37 says, “Now I, King Nebuchadnezzar, praise and exalt and glorify the KING of heaven because everything He does is right and all His ways are just and those who walk in pride He is able to humble.”
This said by a King that was so far from God, and was so arrogant and prideful and selfish but God broke through his hard heart and he turned to the Lord.
Matthew 19:25-26 says, “When the disciples heard this they were greatly astonished and asked, who then can be saved? Jesus looked at them and said, ‘With man this is impossible but with God all things are possible.' “
So let's be praying people, especially for the Lost. Or should I say, let's pray especially for that which looks impossible!
