Job Chapter 14.  Temporary. Troubles. Endure.
When we come into this world we will face many troubles and eventually we die. Our days are numbered. Job is feeling a sense of despair. He recognizes life is very temporal and full of troubles. I've heard people say, “How come if there's something bad that could happen it happens to me?”
It's hard to see the blessings and joys of life when we are surrounded by pain, suffering and troubles.
Three thoughts that come from this chapter:
1. LIFE IS TEMPORAL. Very temporary. Psalm 39:5 says, “You have made my days a mere hand breath. The span of my years is as nothing before you. Each man's life is but a breath.”
2. WE WILL HAVE TROUBLES AND TRIBULATIONS.  Jesus said in John 16:33 “… that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulations. But take heart; I have overcome the world.” We WILL face tribulations in this world but we can have peace knowing that God is in control and victory is ahead of us. When we have peace we don't have to wallow in despair. We can focus on the problems with faith or we can focus on the future victory. God help us believe and accept your peace in turmoil.
3. TO ENDURE IS TO RECEIVE ETERNAL LIFE IN HEAVEN.  So don't give up. Stay faithful. Endure through all the hardships. With endurance comes eternal life in heaven.
Revelations 2:10 “Do not fear what you are about to suffer. Behold, the devil is about to throw some of you into prison, that you may be tested, and for ten days you will have tribulation. Be faithful unto death, and I will give you the crown of life.”
Matthew 10:22 “And you will be hated by all on account of my name, but it is the one who endures to the end who will be saved.”
James 1:12 “Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because once he has stood the test he will receive crown of life that God has promised to those who love him.”
