The people of Jerusalem were excited to start rebuilding the gates and walls. The whole chapter is all about everyone coming together and playing a part in rebuilding either a gate or section of the wall: males and females. There was one comment about one group of people that did not like working under their supervisor.

Once again this is a picture of the church. Ministry becomes most effective when the body of Christ comes together and works together in meeting needs and connecting with people and building relationships. May we let God use us however he desires in ministry of the church and in our homes and workplace. May we learn to get along with each other and be respectful of others that the work of the Lord is not hindered or delayed.
