Nehemiah Chapter 2. Broken Heart for Lost Souls.
During the days when people brought wine to the king, Nehemiah came before The King with wine. The king could see that Nehemiah was very sad and asked him what the problem was. Nehemiah prayed to the Lord for help and then answered the king. He told how his city lies in ruin and wanted permission to go and fix and rebuild the gates surrounding the city. The king granted him permission to go and even granted his other requests as well.
The enemies of Israel we're Disturbed that the Israelites were allowed to do this.
Nehemiah was broken over the city of his people and wanted to see it repaired. God shows favor and granted all he needed to make it happen. Opposition came but Nehemiah trusted his God to accomplish what he set out to do.
Oh to have such a broken heart for the lost souls in our city, in our workplace, in our homes. Oh that we would seek God with such fervor so he would use us to reach the lost.
God use me to reach the Lost. Show your favor and give me wisdom and vision on how to do it. Provide all that is needed. Give me a loving heart that shows the love of Jesus.

There was a job to do and these words stood out to me today from verse 18:
“Let us rise up and build.” So they strengthened their hands for the good work.
May that also be our response to the work that God has for us to do.
Let’s remember what our task is that we have to accomplish as we read in Matthew 28:19-20.
“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
