2nd Chronicles Chapter 19.  We all mess up.

I broke this chapter down into 2 sections:

  1. We all mess up. Yesterday I said I couldn’t believe how King Jehosophat made a dumb decision to go into battle. He loved the Lord and he sought the Lord with all his heart.  But he still messed up.  It’s a reminder to me, no matter how “Good” of a Christian we are, we’re going to mess up.  We’re not perfect.  What we do after we mess up will dictate the direction of our faithfulness to God.  After being confronted by a prophet, K.J. responded by working hard to ensure his people were seeking the Lord.
  2. Repent. K.J. went through a lot of work to ensure his people in many cities were following the Lord’s Laws and being taught the ways of the Lord.

How much do we invest into teaching truth to our families?  How important is that to us?

Lord, help me to be humble and repent when caught in a sin and help me to keep proclaiming you with my life and words to encourage others to follow you, especially my family.
