2nd Kings chapter 19. “Even God can't help me in this situation!”
King Hezekiah was in deep trouble with the most feared King of all the countries (King of Assyria). He was in what seemed like the most impossible situation but God saw the pride and arrogance of the King of Assyria and God brought deliverance for King Hezekiah. God was glorified and it was evident God did a miracle.
Do you feel like you are in deep trouble, like you're in over your head? You can go as far as saying you are in what seems like an impossible situation? Have you went before the Lord in complete brokenness and surrender, pouring out your heart completely? Have you? Are you at the point where you realize that you can't do it but you know God can? Are you listening to the Lord's voice? He wants to speak to you. Let Him share His heart through the Bible. He'll talk to you. God can deliver you. When He does, it will be a miracle. It won't be by you so you can't boast in yourself but it will be God's intervention. He'll get the glory not yourself.

Hezekiah was distressed as he faced what must have seemed like an impossible challenge to overcome. It seemed like nobody had ever stood a chance against the king of Assyria before! Then we go on to read in verse 35 that 185,000 Assyrians were wiped out by the angel of the Lord in one night at their camp. Their dead bodies were found in the morning. Sennacherib had bragged about defeating so many before, but those were all people who followed fake gods. When he tried mocking the living God, he didn’t get away with it. Nothing is too difficult for our God! Whether it’s a Red Sea, a wall of Jericho, a giant named Goliath, or any other obstacle that might be standing in the way, God is big enough to help us face it and He can take us to where He wants us to be! I’m reminded of a few Scriptures today as I think about how all things are possible with God.
Psalm 118:5-6
“Out of my distress I called on the Lord; the Lord answered me and set me free. The Lord is on my side; I will not fear. What can man do to me?”
Proverbs 21:31
“The horse is made ready for the day of battle, but the victory belongs to the Lord.”
Mark 11:23
“Truly, I (Jesus) say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be taken up and thrown into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says will come to pass, it will be done for him.”
Today’s reading reminds us of the power of prayer and Hezekiah gives us an example of a good one. Begin with thanksgiving and pray about every thing. Nothing is too big or too small for God. All we need to do is take our troubles to Him and watch Him fight for us. Thank You, Lord!
