2nd Kings chapter 4.  Do you believe in miracles?
Greetings everyone!  Today I needed this chapter!
Chapter 4 has four different accounts each involving a miracle with Elisha.
1st. A widow has a financial need and is about to lose her two sons as payment. The miracle is she was asked to gather empty jars and then fill them with her one small jar of olive oil. Her one small jar of olive oil was able to fill several jars which she sold all of them and was able to pay off her debt and live off the rest.
2nd. A woman had no son to carry their name. Elisha said you would have a son and she did. Later the son died. She believed he could be healed and brought back to life miraculously and he was.
3rd. Several prophets fixed a stew unknowingly with poisonous gourds. They became sick and we're going to die but were all healed by Elisha after he added flour to the stew.
4th. Elisha took 20 loaves of bread and with it miraculously fed a hundred men and had some left over.
After reading this chapter I am reminded that we have to believe in miracles. I'm not saying God's going to do big miracles every time we ask him to. But I believe when we meet difficult situations we have to believe that God can do a miracle to get us through our life situation. How he chooses to do it maybe simple but it may take a great step of faith and obedience on our part. Regardless how he does it will be a miracle and we must press forward believing in miracles.
What are you going through now? What is your difficult situation? What is your impossible situation?
Have you sought the Lord in prayer? Have you read his word to see what he would say to you? Is there something specific you need to do as a way of showing your faith and obedience to God? Or do you feel inclined right now to wait on the Lord?
Wherever you're at during this time of need Don't stop believing in a miracle!!!
