1st Kings chapter 6.
Keep being in the word, Everyone!!!
It was 480 years after leaving Egypt before the Israelites started building a temple for the Lord. It took them seven years to complete it. The work done was very particular. Each room they spent a lot of time and did a lot of work: especially in the in the inner room where the Lord would dwell did they spend a lot of time and detailed work. They were making sure everything was perfectly done.
That was then, but today God does not dwell within buildings built with hands but rather within the hearts of every follower of Christ. When it comes to our own heart and life, how much time do we spend on ensuring each room of our heart is right with God? That it is Clean and pure? Holy? How much time do we set aside each day to ensure we are developing our relationship with God? Are we in the Word daily? Are we allowing the Holy Spirit to speak to us in areas that need to be surrendered to the Lord? Are we allowing the Holy Spirit to change us? Are we striving daily to be a light in a dark World with every act we do or every word we say?
OR
Are we trying to hang on to certain things of this world? Are we quick to do our religious act of the day so we can then live as we please versus as God pleases? Are we more concerned about our desires or God's desires? How much time do we really spend to make sure we are right and holy before God?

We read today about how the temple was built. I was thinking about what Stephen said in Acts 7:44-50.
“Our fathers had the tent of witness in the wilderness, just as He who spoke to Moses directed him to make it, according to the pattern that he had seen. Our fathers in turn brought it in with Joshua when they dispossessed the nations that God drove out before our fathers. So it was until the days of David, who found favor in the sight of God and asked to find a dwelling place for the God of Jacob. But it was Solomon who built a house for Him. Yet the Most High does not dwell in houses made by hands, as the prophet says, “‘Heaven is My throne, and the earth is My footstool. What kind of house will you build for Me, says the Lord, or what is the place of My rest? Did not My hand make all these things?’”
