Exodus chapter 29.
Consecration process is all about making everything holy. Once the whole process is completed then God says he will dwell among the people. Holiness is God's place of living. Throughout the word of God we are called to be holy for God is Holy. If we want to meet and speak with God and hear his voice then let us be holy people. Let all we do be pleasing in his sight. We will hear his voice when we come before him righteous. Let us recognize our sin. Seek forgiveness and repent.

I was thinking today while I was reading about how sacrifices had to continually be made over and over again and how Jesus was able to say, “It is finished.” Jesus was nailed to the cross for us as the perfect sacrifice who died once and for all. We read this in Hebrews 7:26-28. “For it was indeed fitting that we should have such a high priest, holy, innocent, unstained, separated from sinners, and exalted above the heavens. He has no need, like those high priests, to offer sacrifices daily, first for His own sins and then for those of the people, since He did this once for all when He offered up Himself. For the law appoints men in their weakness as high priests, but the word of the oath, which came later than the law, appoints a Son who has been made perfect forever.”
I am also studying in Hebrews and love your reference, Jim. When I was younger in my walk, I had a hard time understanding the Old Testament. But through the Old Testament, we can better understand the significance of what Christ did for us (see Hebrews 10:1-14) I too felt the overwhelming emphasis on the holiness of God in today’s chapter. The priests, the clothes, the tabernacle, and the sacrifice had to be clean and consecrated, prepared to meet God. We need to remember that we worship the Almighty Creator and Sustainer of the universe. We should not take Him for granted, rush into worship, or treat Him casually. Lord, help me to always remember that when I come before You. Without You, I am nothing.
Jeanine, I think I am a lot like you had said you were in your younger walk, having some difficulty understanding and dissecting the Old Testament. I also agree and can see from all of your insight, that God wants his sacrifices to be so very special and holy. That it’s not something Aaron and his sons can throw together last minute, or do nonchalantly. It leads me to think, just like you Jim mentioned, our faith shouldn’t be lived in haste. We need to be deliberate and plan out certain aspects of our faith, and how we worship God and further His Kingdom. Our faith is not an instance where we can just “wing it”. I think I can be guilty of this by not being in the word enough, and thinking church every Sunday is enough. It’s not enough! God wants us to be deliberate with our prayer and fellowship and gifts that’s He’s given us.
