Zechariah Chapter 13. Be like the 1/3 rd.

A prophecy was made telling of the coming Savior, Jesus, who would save people from their sins. And when he comes, false prophets and idols will be destroyed.  God will then allow his son Jesus to be struck down and the sheep who followed him would run away. 2/3 of them will turn away from the Lord and perish.  1/3 of the sheep/followers of Christ will stand strong. God will allow the 1/3 to go through trials and tribulations, then they'll turn to the Lord and cry for help and the Lord will answer them.  God will say, “They are my people,” and the people will say, “The Lord is our God.”

This prophecy was fulfilled because Jesus came and died for the Forgiveness of our sins.
Now what? Have we received Jesus into our lives? Are we following him? Are we willing to go through trials and tribulations for the Lord like the 1/3 rd? Are we willing to die for him? To be rejected by others?

When we go through trials and tribulations, do we turn from God or call out to him? Do we say, The Lord Is our God! Have we surrendered everything to him or have we settled for mediocracy? Have we lost the hunger and thirst we used to have for Jesus? Or are we so hungry and thirsty for the Lord that we feel we just can't get enough of him? Do we keep wanting more?  Do we have a heart for lost souls and do we make ourselves available to the Lord so he can use us to reach lost souls? If this describes us, then we are like the one third mentioned in this chapter. If this does not describe us then we are either like the 2/3 or we are becoming like them.

Stand back and ask God to reveal himself to you and to reveal any sin or weaknesses. Ask the Lord to reveal if your heart is half committed or if you have settled for mediocracy versus having a hunger and thirst for all that God has for you.
Blessings my Friends!
