Ezekiel chapter 22. God, I want to take a stand for you.

God has Ezekiel the prophet speak judgment against Jerusalem. God is frustrated with their continual acts of sin and lists a series of things they are doing against the Lord. He's frustrated with how the leaders use their power to promote evil. The priests speak as if evil is good and good is evil. The prophets tell lies to the people.
God makes a profound but sad statement when he said he looked for someone who would be willing to take a stand on his behalf so that he would not have to destroy the city, but he found no one!
God, we live in a nation where churches are shutting down quicker than new churches are going up. We live in a nation that promotes more and more that evil is good and good is evil. God, you said your wrath was going to come upon Jerusalem unless you could find someone willing to take a stand on your behalf. Sadly, though, you could find no one.
Today God, you are looking for followers of Christ who are willing to take a stand for you. I have friends whose life practices are unholy. They find joy in their practices while showing no sign of wanting to change. They might practice drugs, they may have anger issues, they may drink excessively, they may have a foul mouth, they may practice lying, or practicing sexual immorality.
I don't want my response to be one of acceptance for their behavior or even join in with their behavior rather I want to love them first as they are while taking a stand for God's righteousness. I want my conversation to be, not condemning, but speak in such a way that they know I love them but don't approve of their practices. I want to encourage them in Love without accepting the sin. God help me take a stand for you.
