| Ezekiel chapter 19. Be a fruit bearer. Chapter 19 is a chapter of lament and sorrow. It speaks of Israel as one would speak of a lion. Israel was once a lioness who raised a strong Nation like a lioness would raise a strong lion, only to be overtaken by another nation. Then it raised an even mightier lion (nation) which later was overtaken by many nations. Israel was once like a strong vineyard full of branches, producing fruit with a large supply of water. But when Israel was overtaken its branches were stripped of its fruit and the branches were consumed with fire and ended up planted in the desert, in a dry and thirsty land. Perhaps this is a picture of our lives. We can remember being so committed to the Lord. We served him with much vigor and love. Perhaps we remember being a leader in touching many lives. But over time our lives have changed. Once was, no longer is. We no longer are in the word like we used to. We are no longer in church like we used to. We no longer have the testimonies like we used to of touching and impacting lives. What would I have to surrender over to the Lord in order to allow His Holy Spirit to reign 100% in my heart so I'm able to bear fruit again for the Lord? |
