| Lamentations chapter 5. Why are we talking about this again? Once again we see a picture painted by the writer of this chapter that is all about a dark and gloomy life. And feeling like there's no light at the end of the tunnel. Feeling life has no hope. The people suffer because of their sin and their rejection of the Lord. And now desire to be completely restored. We have talked about this before: how we face difficult times and wonder if life will ever get better? God never promised that life on Earth would always be a bed of roses. But he did promise he would never leave us nor forsake us. When difficult times come, I feel we have options: 1) Take a good hard look at your life. Is there sin in our lives we need to get rid of? 2) Ask yourself, “What is God trying to teach me?” Our suffering may have nothing to do with sin but all about God teaching us and helping us grow in areas we need growth which is often a painful process. 3) Perhaps we need to learn to trust God despite the hell we're going through. Will you trust him? Yes, your life is difficult but God is very near and we can trust Him. Share a prayer request if you would like prayer today. |
