| Lamentations Chapter 4. Have you lost your luster? This chapter is very specific in verses 12 and 13 that when the leadership's faith broke down it resulted in the whole nation losing faith in their God resulting in increased sin, the worship of false gods, and the love for worldly pleasures. As a man of God, I am to be a spiritual leader of the household. When that breaks down it results in a weak commitment to the Lord which ends up hurting the rest of the family. Over a period of time, a household is left with a mind that “believes” in God but their spirit is not invested in the things of the Lord because of being too busy with life, job, habits, etc. The Light of Christ becomes dull and less impactful in life. Verse one of Lamentations 4 says, “The gold has lost its luster. The fine gold has become dull.” This statement is compared to the people of Judah and Israel whose hearts for the Lord have lost their love and luster. Has your heart and life lost its luster for the Lord? Are you leading your family or others forward in Jesus or not? Matthew 5:13-16 is a great passage talking about being the Salt and Light to the world for Jesus. We get to choose to be a bright light or a dull light; good salt or bad salt. What's your choice? |
