| Jeremiah Chapter 47. Well that was unexpected! Out of nowhere God prophesies through Jeremiah the coming of the Philistine's destruction. The Philistines were a strong Nation but God prophesizes that the Babylonians will come and utterly destroy them. Nothing has been said about the Philistines for a long long long long long time. It was almost unexpected because God has been concerned with the Jews and the Egyptians. But all of a sudden, he speaks against the Philistines. This chapter reminds me of Isaiah 55:8-9 when God says, “My thoughts are not your thoughts and neither are your ways my ways. As the heavens are higher than the Earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.” We never know for sure what God is up to and what turn of events will occur in our lives. Sometimes it's disaster that falls upon us and sometimes it's a blessing. Whether it be good or bad, we have comfort in knowing nothing catches God off guard. He's in control so we can rest in him no matter what happens. Unexpectedly, my mom passed away the day before thanksgiving in 2020. It was unexpected but God is in control and we rest in him. Knowing mom is with the Lord does give us comfort. What's an unexpected event in your life? Let us not forget God is in control and ready to move us forward with him and give us peace and Hope. Trust God and receive his peace and Hope rather than live with worry and fear. Love you guys! |
