Jeremiah Chapter 45. Why are you even serving the Lord?

This chapter tells us about an experience of Baruch who helped out Jeremiah with his written prophecies to the Evil Nation. Baruch's motive for helping was for recognition, so people would be impressed by him. His motives were not to bring glory to God but to himself.
1) What's your MOTIVES when you are serving the Lord?

Then when problems came and people were looking to kill Baruch because of the prophecies he shared to the Evil Nation, he ran in fear and regretted his service.
2) When serving the Lord, what do you do at the first sign of TROUBLES or OPPOSITION or MISHAPS in life? Do you keep serving the Lord or do you quit?

God had encouraging words for Baruch and wanted to reassure him that He would be with him and protect him.
3) PERSEVERE through the negative results in life for God promises he will never leave us nor forsake us. Joshua 1:5-9, Deuteronomy 31:6-8, and Hebrews 13:5-6.
Even if death is our opposition we are told not to fear what man can do to us for all things are temporal. What happens on this Earth is temporary. When we leave this earth it's eternity.
