| Jeremiah Chapter 41. Who can I rescue today? The people of Mizpah were taken captive by Ishmael and his army. Ishmael was a very evil person. He was a deceiver. He deceived Gedaliah, the governor, into thinking they were friends but killed him and then took off with many people from Mizpah as captives. When Johanan heard of this, he took an army of men and rescued the people of Mizpah from their hands. Ishmael had power but Johanan and his army were willing to take the risk to save the people of Mizpah. How much do we care for our family members, our friends, or even people in other countries who don't know Christ as their Lord and Savior? How much do we care? To what extent are we willing to see them rescued by the greatest deceiver of all – the devil and his angels? The greatest thing we could do to rescue someone is pray for them. Philippians 4:4-7. The second greatest thing we can do is love them. I Peter 4:8 says love each other deeply because love covers over multitude of sins. If we do these two things and put control into the hands of God, he will work through us and through life circumstances to reveal himself to the person we are wanting to rescue. Who do you feel is in need of rescue? Who needs Jesus as their Savior? Pray for them and Love them with the love of Jesus. And when God opens the door to share about his Son then do it. Start by sharing a testimony of how God changed your life and let the person know that God can do the same for them. |
