| Jeremiah Chapter 38. The solution is easy: SURRENDER! Jeremiah's words to The King and to the people were to surrender to their enemy the Babylonians. If they did they would live. If they didn't they would die. Such words did not make sense to the people. They were “God's chosen people”. “He wouldn't want us to surrender because he wants to save us”. So Jeremiah's words seemed very much anti-God. The problem is the people of Judah neglected to see that they had a sin issue of serving other gods so God said repent and be saved but they chose not to. So God said you'll die unless you surrender to Babylon. Life comes with surrender. For us today as Christians, we also are asked to surrender. In order for us to have life, life everlasting, we are told to confess our sins, repent and surrender our will, our hearts, and lives to the Lord Jesus. To surrender our will, our hearts, and our lives to the Lord is to gain life because with surrender comes forgiveness of sins and a new life in Jesus. My question is, have you surrendered your will, your heart, and your life to the Lord so you can have eternal life. I know, it doesn't make sense, but with it comes forgiveness of sins and God's Holy Spirit is given to help you live the life he's called you to. I much rather let God have control versus me trying to take control myself. What about you? |
