Isaiah chapter 60. Drawn to THE Light!
God declares to Israel that he will send his light and nations of all people will be drawn to it. People will be filled with joy. The people will be blessed with finances and produce. God's name will be praised and people will flock to honor the Lord.
What God declared for Israel is for us today. God has sent us a light, his Son Jesus. People from all nations are drawn to him. Am I drawn to him? Is he the joy of my life? Or am I seeking Joy elsewhere? Is it his name I want to praise? Or am I seeking praise for myself? God Is calling All Nations to him. Am I making myself available to be used as one of his servants who will share the good news with others? Or am I being silent while holding the best news for all creation? Does that even make sense? The best thing that has ever happened in all history is Christ's death and Resurrection . Am I silent to share this greatest act or am I eager to share the greatest news ever? God, be my joy. Thank you for your salvation. Help me share it with others.
This passage reminds me of the prophecy of the coming of Jesus in Isaiah chapter 9:2.
“The people walking in darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the land of deep darkness a light has dawned.”
