Isaiah Chapter 55. How hungry and thirsty are you?
God's word is compared to food and drink. God calls us to His food and drink that brings life and costs no money. God desires us to spend our time in his word for life versus spending our time on that which only satisfies us temporarily.
God puts life into a soul which lasts forever. Pleasures and desires of this world only satisfy temporarily and destroys the soul.
God's word is so powerful that when we take it to others, things happen! People are challenged with their faith and thought processes. People's lives are changed for the Lord. Let this challenge us to want to share God's word more often with others because God promises when his word goes out, lives are impacted.
We are challenged to take his word outward with joy and peace.
JOY, because we are excited to share that which brings life.
PEACE, because we know that the Holy Spirit is with us and goes before us to touch lives so we don't have to worry and be afraid when we preach God's word.
Things are going to happen!! God's just looking for somebody who's thirsty and hungry enough to feast on his word and then share it with others!
