Isaiah chapter 49. I Want To Help!
As a child, I remember always wanting to help with what the bigger people were doing. And now that I'm bigger, I see little kids wanting to help me with projects. It's during these opportunities that a little kid learns how to do what the adult (their master) is doing. That's how they learn to work different tools, learn to cook, learn to clean, learn to do laundry, become a mechanic, learn construction or any other field of interest.
In this chapter God reveals His plan for the future. God speaks of the coming Savior, Jesus, who will display God's splendor, power, and majesty. He'll bring Salvation, not just to the Jews but to the whole world. He will restore his people back to the Lord God.
As we see in the Gospels and in the book of Acts, we are all called to take the message of Jesus (Salvation) to the whole world. This is our calling from God.
So what am I doing to be better equipped to share the Good News of Jesus? Let me learn from him through the studies of the Scriptures of how Jesus loved others and spoke truth. Am I ashamed to speak about Jesus to others? Who am I building a relationship with now so that I can love them like Jesus and then as the opportunity arises, also share the Salvation message with them? Am I trying to learn from the master? Or am I letting others do my part?
