Isaiah Chapter 36. Now What Do I Do?
In this chapter King of Assyria sends a message to King Hezekiah of Judah. They speak to The Messengers of King Hezekiah in order to inflict fear upon him and his people. The people of Judah are hidden in the walls of Jerusalem. It's their place of security from the Assyrians.
The king of Assyria asks these questions to The Messengers of King Hezekiah of Judah.
1) Who do you put your confidence in for deliverance?
2) Do you put your confidence into another Nation?
3) Do you really put your trust in the Lord because he can't save you?
The Assyrians want to inflict fear upon the people of Judah so they surrender. The Messengers go back to King Hezekiah with fear and brokenness. They tear their clothes and tell the king of Judah what the king of Assyria had said. As if to be saying, “Now what do we do?”
Isn't that like us? We feel God leading us a certain direction and then we face opposition from the enemy. Now what are we going to do?
We become discouraged and we think of quitting.
Instead, let us go to God in prayer. Let that be our first step. Turn to God in prayer and turn to his Word and let him speak to us and give his guidance on what direction to pursue or what plan to follow.
Let us put our confidence in him and trust him to open the doors that seem impossible. We can trust God to overcome any obstacle or opposition.
Go to God In Prayer and go to his Word and then listen to His voice. Don't be discouraged and don't give up.
