Isaiah chapter 18. Don't underestimate God.
This is a confusing chapter. God says he is sending his messenger, but I don't know who that is. His messenger is going to the land of Cush which is a great and powerful people. God declares that though the land of Cush is powerful, God has no problem in defeating them and their arrogance. He says Cush will become like a vineyard that is scorched by the sun. It will be destroyed and left for the birds of the air to eat along with the wild animals. After that, the people of Cush will turn to the Lord and will bring gifts to the Lord Almighty.
You have to wonder what God's people were thinking when it was prophesied that the land of Cush would one day turn to the Lord. I'm sure they felt it would be IMPOSSIBLE!! NO WAY!! The land of Cush is a powerful land with great trade and much business. Their arrogance is high.
But don't underestimate what God can do. I prayed for my dad to accept the Lord and didn't see it happen until after 25 years.
Are there loved ones you are concerned about who need the Lord?
CHALLENGE:
Pray for them. Pray God will speak his love and truth to them. Pray they will see the truth and respond. Make yourself available to God to be used by him but don't think that it's up to you to “SAVE” your loved ones. God will use life circumstances and other people to reveal his love and truth to them. Pray daily and see what God will do. Don't underestimate Him!
