Daily Bible Challenge: Day 683 Isaiah Chapter 4

Chapter four starts with a sad picture of a Nation where so many men have been killed in war that women find it hard to find a husband. They were so desperate in life to be able to say they have a husband that women joined together pleading with a man to have them all as one. They were so trapped in their own lives, that they lost focus of God Almighty. As a result they refused to humble themselves before the Lord and seek his help and care for their lives.

But the rest of the chapter is a message of Great Hope.

1. God declares that he will raise up a righteous branch (referring to Christ).

2. As a result of this righteous Branch, Christ, many will embrace him and there will be much fruit. Meaning there will be many who will embrace the GOSPEL and there will be many lives changed so that they are called Holy which only the GOSPEL can make us holy.

3. Chapter 4 says their sins will be forgiven and made clean which only Christ can do.

4. The righteous branch will protect his people and become a shelter and shade to them during the storms of life.

Christ is the answer!

 Let us not run around in life trying to find desperately the answers in life (like the women trying to find a husband).  Christ is standing in front of us with his arms open wide asking us to trust him. Be patient. Rest in peace and faith knowing He will take care of us, both now and in the future.

God, today I acknowledge you as my hope for all things including salvation. Wherever you call me, and wherever you take me, may I be one who bares fruit for the kingdom.
