Ecclesiastes Chapter 4. Don't Forget Your Mission!
I broke this chapter up into three sections based on what was said:
1. There are those who are oppressed and feel no comfort.
I know what it means to be bullied and to feel alone. I have seen many kids who also have felt alone and are picked on. They need someone to come alongside and remind them that they are loved and valued and have a purpose. They need Jesus and we need to be Jesus to them. Don't just tell them about Jesus but live a life of Jesus around them. Invest in them as Jesus has invested into us.
2. Being a workaholic is not the answer to life. Being a hard worker is important but don't forget your family. I believe our family must be our number one Ministry. I've seen a family where the dad was so busy with his passion that his kids were neglected. Now today his family want nothing to do with him. The kids hate their dad and also want nothing to do with the Lord. The kids grew up in a Christian home but their neglect from dad became associated even with God so now the boys have walked away from the Lord.
3. Two are better than one. This is a reminder to me that having some form of accountability is important. It's easy to compromise one's faith if one is fighting alone with no accountability. Having two working together means you can hold each other up and even work as a team. 3 working together is even harder to overcome. In fact if three are together, you have a better chance of not just overcoming evil but also promoting the good news of Christ to a hurting world.
CHALLENGE:
1. Help those who are oppressed.
2. Work hard but don't forget your family.
3. Make sure you have some form of an accountability.
