Proverbs Chapter 10. Don't be a fool!
This chapter compares the righteous with the wicked and the wise with the fool.
The fool and the wicked has an impact on people's lives. Unfortunately, it's not a positive impact. The fool and the wicked hurt people. They lead others astray rather than pointing them to Christ. They want their own way and won't listen to the words of others.
It also says that the righteous are able to withstand terrible storms in life but the wicked are swept away. This reminds me of the story Jesus tells in Matthew 7:21-29.
It says your entrance into heaven is not based upon whether or not you can say Jesus is Lord but is based upon:
1) Did you do the will of the Father.
2) Did you hear God's Word and put it into practice.
It goes on to say that the wicked and the fool refuse to put into practice God's word.
Jesus makes a comparison between the wise and the fool:
1) The wise person who hears the word of God and puts it into practice is just like the wise man who built his house on the rock. When the storms came his house did not fall because his foundation was made of rocks. So for us as Christ followers, we need to make sure Jesus is the foundation we build our lives upon so we can withstand any storms, temptations, or mishaps that come our way.
2) The fool is the one who hears God's words but doesn't put them into practice. Just like the fool who built his house on Sand. When the storms came the home was swept away. So will the fool be swept away to hell for rejecting God's word for their lives.
CHALLENGE: I can't tell you how important it is to consider where your heart is. I Challenge you to take seriously your choices in life. Are you pursuing God's word in obedience or are you pursuing the pleasures of the world which will result in disobeying God's word. It doesn't matter that you can tell somebody you believe in Jesus when your heart is far from him. The outcome is still separation from God for eternity in the Lake of fire called hell. Please consider your choices. GOD LOVES YOU!!!
