Proverbs chapter 6 Don't be Lazy.
Don't be lazy because it only results into poverty. What a crazy world we live in. There are hard workers with good work ethics who are far and few between. Those are the ones we love to hire and have work for us. Then there's the other end of the spectrum: those who want to get paid but don't want to have to work for it or don't want to work hard. They want their cell phones. They want to chat with friends and can't conceptualize the concept of production. We need production so we can make sales. And then make money. And then pay people for their hard work.
How do you teach good work ethics? Especially if someone has been trained all their lives that “handouts” is a “job option”.
How do you instill into a heart of a person that work is something to desire and strive for with such great intensity?
Take the ant in verse 6 through 8. It understands the concept and value of work! It works hard with no one having to stand over them. That's how you know if you have a disciplined worker versus a lazy worker. Give them a task and give them the freedom to get it done without overseeing them. Do they take their time? Do they take several breaks? Do they spend half their time on their cell phones?
Colossians 3:17 says, “And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do all the name of the Lord Jesus giving thanks to God the Father through him.”
This verse should drive us to want to be the best worker ever. We should strive to be a worker who at the end of the day we can imagine our Lord saying a job well done good and faithful servant.
An employee should stop hating their boss and stop performing poorly because of their hate for their superiors. Let this verse drive us to see people as if they are Jesus so that we want to give 100%.
What is your work ethic? Do you have a positive attitude or a negative attitude? How do you perceive others? With respect, like they are Jesus or as an enemy?
Your future is in your hands so make good choices. Change your attitude if you have to verses trying to stand your ground. Quit acting as if you're always right and everyone else is always wrong.
Just some thoughts.
