Proverbs Chapter 2. I NEED A JOB!!!!!!!!!
I don't know when was the last time you were job searching, when you really needed employment. The person who is disciplined and really wants a job never gives up. They keep focused. They're constantly and consistently searching for open positions. They put together a resume. They're filling out applications. They're going to job interviews. They're doing follow-up.
Then the one position they really wanted, someone else ends up getting. But they persevere. They don't give up. They don't let discouragement overtake them. They keep moving forward. They keep the search. They keep filling out more applications and keep interviewing. And eventually they get a job.
Can you imagine what their life of employment would look like if they stopped the whole process after the first rejection or sign of discouragement. The person who stops the process ends up unemployed and they stay unemployed. You can't stop seeking.
Proverbs Chapter 2 talks about seeking wisdom like you would search for money or silver or hidden treasure. You do it with a lot of persistence and do it constantly and consistently. And the wisdom we should be searching for is God's wisdom. As long as you do that, then you'll experience a connection with God resulting in decisions that pursue the heart of God and his Holiness and righteousness.
Once you quit seeking God and his wisdom, then things start to go bad. Once your mind quits pursuing God's Word and righteousness, then one's thought process begins to be intertwined with the thought process of the world. And the lusts of the world begin to be entertained until eventually your mind, your heart, and your decisions focus on the pleasures of the world. You find yourself no longer engaged in a strong pursuit of God.
CHALLENGE: Seek God's wisdom, which is found in God's Word, with the same intensity that you would search for hidden treasure if you knew its general location or like you would a job if you really wanted one. As you do this, then watch your life change and the lives around you will also begin to change for good. Have a BLESSED DAY!
