Psalms Chapter 144. Who am I that God cares about me?
I love and appreciate you all very much!
The psalmist asks the question: God, why do you even care or even think of us mere humans? In other words, why are we so important to you?
A great question, but perhaps one we should never have to ask. If we understood the great power of God and his great love for us, then we would never have to struggle with why God takes great interest in us. Sadly though, and I'm guilty of this, we get bombarded with lies and deceptions from our enemy, the devil. He continually is telling us we're no good or we're not good enough. He constantly reminds us of our sins we commit even though God is willing to forgive us and forget our sins.
If we truly understood God's love then we'd realize what comes with this love.
1. God desires to spend time with us.
2. God desires to make us more like Jesus.
3. God desires to take care of our needs.
4. God desires to help us overcome obstacles and our enemies.
5. Because of what God has done for us through the death and resurrection of his Son Jesus, I'd be a fool if I didn't want to live my whole life for him. I'd surrender it all to him so I can be all he wants to be for him.
It's hard to put in words, but if I truly understood God's love for me, then my whole life would change. I'd love people more. I'd forgive more. I'd turn from sin more. I'd serve God more. I'd trust God more. I'd persevere more. I'd be concerned about lost souls more. I'd tell others about Jesus more.  I'd spend more time praying and reading God's Word.
Every second of every minute of every hour of every day of every week of every month of every year would be consumed with thoughts of our Lord and how I can make every thought and action be for his glory and not mine.  Colossians 3:17 says, “And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do all in the name of our Lord Jesus giving thanks to God the Father through him.”
If I did this, not only would my life change, but lives around me would also change.
