Psalms Chapter 118. Who can we trust?
Good morning everyone!
1. Five times in this chapter we are told to give thanks to the Lord for his love endures forever.
2. We're told that the Lord is with us and we can take refuge in him.
3. We are told that it is God alone that we can trust.
4. The psalmist tells us that people and leaders cannot be trusted, only the Lord.
For years, in the political world, we've seen corruption on all sides. We've seen it in both parties: Republican and Democrat. We've seen it in the CIA, FBI, Congress, Senate and Presidents. How can we trust our leaders? It's hard to know when they can be trusted.
God, on the other hand, can always be trusted. It doesn't mean we won't face hard times. It doesn't mean that he will never let us suffer pain: emotional, mental, physical, or spiritual pain.
Trusting God means that no matter what we go through, including emotional, mental, physical, and spiritual pain, that he is with us to help us through it. Because of trust we can have hope in all circumstances. We won't have to give up on life. We can fight through the pain of life and be victorious so that we can become a voice of help and hope to others experiencing the same pains we have experienced.
Trust God! Don't give up! There's hope! There's victory! Give thanks to God because his love for us endures forever.
