Psalms Chapter 115. God gets the GLORY!
Verse one starts right off the bat with God is to get the glory and not ourselves. And not anybody else or anything else. Nations were putting their trust in false gods. They were putting their trust in other things or things made by humans. Which doesn't make sense. Why do we put so much attention and exalt things when we could exalt the one that created all things. In other words, why do we worship the created when we can worship the Creator?
This chapter tells us that God put us on Earth so what are we doing with our time here? Is it the bring glory to God or to ourselves? Are we building our kingdom as we try and accomplish so much? Or are we trying to build God's kingdom? How are we investing in our relationship with the Lord God? And how are we investing our time to be better equipped, not only to serve the Lord, but also share the Lord with others?
Is our energy spent on trying to get people to recognize us and our accomplishments? Or recognize our Savior? Are we looking for people to praise us or praise our Savior? We are on Earth for a brief time and how we use this time determines our eternity.
God, help me invest my whole life in you. May my every breath and every waking moment be opportunities to grow in your love, live your love, and show your love. May people come to know you because of your Holy Spirit using me to share Jesus. May you get all glory and praise and not myself.
