Psalms Chapter 106. Not again!
At the beginning of this chapter we hear the words, “We have sinned!”
At the end of the chapter we hear, “Save us Lord!”
All the verses in between focus on how God's chosen people struggled with staying faithful to the Lord. Again and again, they would walk with the Lord and then soon get distracted with the worries of life or the pleasures of the world. God sees them in their sin and eventually lets them wallow in their sin until they become held captive by their enemies or by their sin. At that time, the people cry out to God and because of God's great love he hears them cry and saves them. He does this over and over again.
My frustration is, I feel like I'm doing pretty good with my faith walk and then I end up acting in foolishness.  I'll worry and lack faith or I'll be selfish and hurt someone with my words or actions. Then I become disappointed in myself and cry out to God for forgiveness.
What I'm thankful for is that God truly does love us and is willing to forgive me and take me in again and again. What would I do without the mercy of God?
Thank you God that I can have a relationship with you through Jesus your son. Forgive me when I fail you through disobedience, selfishness, or lack of faith. Continue to help me be conformed to the image of your Son Jesus, Romans 8:29. I want my life to be a testimony for you in hopes that others might be drawn into a relationship with you.
Have a great day!
