Psalms Chapter 91. God is our security blanket.
Good morning Everyone!!
I remember a time when I was 8 years old. I was at the car races at Wattsburg Fairgrounds with my family. At one point, I left to go use the restroom a little ways away. When I got there, two guys we're going in ahead of me. One was a bully and insisted that I had to pay to use the restroom. I argued with him and fought to get by him. So he stole my hat and said this is payment enough. He took my hat and held it up in the air while he was using the restroom. In the meantime, I'm trying to jump and grab it and get it away from him. In the process he turned and peed on me. By now I'm crying and I finally jumped and got the hat out of his hand. As I turned to run away he got his hand on the top back of my shirt and started pulling me. I was fighting to get away to the point the shirt was choking me. Finally the second guy told the bully to let me go. I ran out of the restroom crying. Ran back to the stand and told my dad. He was not happy and went back with me to see if the guys were still there. Of course they weren't there but seeing my dad was a sure comfort. A sense of security. I felt things were going to be okay.
This whole chapter is all about God being our place of refuge, our fortress, our rescuer. He is our protector so with God we don't have to fear because He will always be with us and we can trust him.
We can take great comfort in knowing that no matter what we're going through he is with us. He doesn't always take away the trials and tribulations but promises he will be with us through each and every one. We can trust him. He is our security blanket.
What are you going through right now?
Give it to the Lord. He will be with you and help you through your circumstances. He will take care of you. You can trust him.
