Psalms Chapter 74. Remember?
May your day be Blessed.  May you be a Blessing to others.
The psalmist cries out to God asking God to REMEMBER they are his chosen people. God has rejected them because of their disobedience. The enemies have been allowed to bring destruction. In fact, the enemies mock God continually.
What's ironic is God wants us to REMEMBER HIM and pursue him with all our hearts. The problem isn't “God doesn't remember us” but rather “we don't remember God.” The consequences of such choices are often disaster. We forget God and our marriage begins to crumble. We forget God and our faith is replaced with self-reliance. We forget God and our life seems to fall apart.
I'm not saying just because you face hard times means you're walking in disobedience to God. What I am saying, it is possible that when we “forget God,” He'll allow misfortune to come upon us, not because he hates us, but rather because he loves us and desires for us to remember him again. He wants us to repent of sin and walk in obedience again with himself. So God's perceived “rejection” is actually God at work to restore the love relationship he desires with us.
So let us remember God. Let's start our spring cleaning and go through the house of our heart and soul and let God reveal each room that needs spiritual cleaning.
1. How's my quiet time with the Lord? Am I in the Word? Is my prayer life weak or strong?
2. How's my marriage? Do we pray together or has it ceased? Are we in the Scriptures together? Am I fighting for my own way or my willing to make sacrifices?
3. How am I as a parent? Do I  encourage with love? Am I pointing my kids to Jesus or am I trying to rule with a hard fist focusing on just the behaviors and forgetting their heart and soul? Am I not seeing the issues that they are really struggling with?
4. Is my job a place where I compromise my faith? Do I steal items and justify it?  Or do I see my job as my mission field to love people and meet their needs in hopes of pointing them to Christ?
Don't “FORGET” instead “REMEMBER!”
