Psalms Chapter 37. God's desires.
2 versus jump out to me from this chapter:
Verse 4 says, “Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart.”
To truly delight yourself in the Lord, to me, is to be so open to do the will of the Father. When our hearts are so open to joyfully do his will, then I am confident he will put His desires within our hearts. He'll give us certain passions that will enable us to use our gifts and talents and abilities for his glory.
Verse 7a: “Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him.”
Oftentimes, when God gives us desires, or passions or a plan, there is a time of waiting, equipping, training, and preparing, or even a purification process. So God reveals and quenches our God-given desires when he is ready versus when we want it. Being STILL and WAITING are very important ingredients, which, unfortunately people are unsettled with. When we want something, we want it NOW!!
God wants to give us these desires, but He is patient because he wants to ensure we are ready and are responsible to handle the desires and also do it for his glory and not our own.
Thank you Lord for giving me desires and passions.
I daily surrender my will for your will so that your desires become my desires and your passions become my passions.
I daily surrender my life to you so you can teach me and equip me and Purge me with all that I need so that I can responsibly carry out the desires and passions within me so that they accomplish what you want accomplished so that your name is lifted up. In Jesus name, amen!

I was reminded once again of Matthew 6:33.
“But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.”
