Job Chapter 26. God's power and wisdom vs. Man's power and wisdom.
Job responds to Bildad's comments. He asked questions to Bildad.
1. How have you really help me with your advice?
2. Then with sarcasm he says, oh you have given such great advice and insight. Where did you get such great wisdom that you were able to utter such awesome words.
3. Whose Spirit were you listening to? As if to imply it certainly wasn't God's wisdom. Because if it was God's wisdom it would not be so poorly spoken as their advice has been poorly spoken.
Then Job goes on to describe the true mighty power and wisdom of God as it relates to:
1. The unknown in the depths of the waters.
2. His ability to spread out the skies.
3. His ability to put much water in the clouds without the clouds bursting.
4. Job mentions so much more about God's mighty power and wisdom and ends by saying, and this is just a small piece of what God is capable of doing and does do. How can one truly understand the thunder of his power?
In essence, Job criticized the wisdom of Bildad and the source of his wisdom (not being from God). Job educated Bildad on God's true wisdom and power as it relates to his creation. God's power and wisdom is so unlimited, and so beyond us, why do we then often seek advice from everyone but God?
James 1:5 says, “If any of you lacks wisdom let him ask of God who gives to all generously and without finding fault.”
In other words, God wants to give us his wisdom. He doesn't look for reasons not to give it to us.
1. His wisdom might come to us through his Word so we should stay in the word.
2. His wisdom might come through a person so be sensitive to his Spirit so we seek the person he wants us to and not who we want to.
3. He may speak through his creation so keep your heart open to God.
Let us seek God first and let him answer how he wants to rather than run around looking for answers through sources that may have nothing to do with God.

I was reminded today of Psalm 42:7-11.
Deep calls to deep at the roar of Your waterfalls; all Your breakers and Your waves have gone over me. By day the Lord commands His steadfast love, and at night His song is with me, a prayer to the God of my life. I say to God, my rock: “Why have You forgotten me? Why do I go mourning because of the oppression of the enemy?” As with a deadly wound in my bones, my adversaries taunt me, while they say to me all the day long, “Where is your God?” Why are you cast down, O my soul, and why are you in turmoil within me? Hope in God; for I shall again praise Him, my salvation and my God.
