Job Chapter 24.  Are you walking in the light?
Job continues to express his frustration on how there are those who do so much evil and seem to get away with it. It appears as if God is unaware and is doing nothing about it. Job says so much evil occurs at night because people feel they are unseen and are getting away with their evil. They want nothing to do with the light for the light exposes their evil. This reminds me of John 3:16-20.
The world we live in is a broken world. Those living a life without Christ are living in darkness. But Jesus is the light of the world who came to give us new life in him.
The passage says, “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only son that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send his son into the world to condemn the world but to save the world through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God's one and only Son. This is the verdict, light has come into the world. But people loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. Everyone who does evil hates the light and will not come into the light for fear that their deeds will be exposed.” John 3:16-20.
The reality is: we will all face the wrath and judgement of God if we're living in darkness and without Christ. We escape judgement when we have faith in Jesus and we choose to no longer live in darkness. Those who surrender their lives to Jesus begin to walk in the light and they understand that Jesus is the WAY the Truth and the LIFE.
God help me to walk in the light so that others see you and are inspired to walk in the light through a relationship with your Son.
