Ezra Chapter 8.  Fasting.
God's hand was upon the Israelites. He's been doing a work of restoration both in the Lord's Temple and in the hearts of the people. Slowly but surely, people are returning to Jerusalem and Judah. When Ezra was heading back to the Temple along with a few thousand people, he had them all fast and pray before the Lord. It was an act of humility and an act of showing their trust 100% in the Lord.
God is at work in our lives and wants to restore us 100% to him. Since we all have areas of concern, why not pick a day where you choose to fast before the Lord and spend time in prayer. Let it be an act of:
1. Humility and an opportunity to
2. Seek his will for your life as it relates to a form of restoration or direction for your life.
The fast could be a meal or more than one meal but only do that if your health will allow it. Otherwise you could fast during a favorite TV show or during your snack time. Whatever you choose, spend that time in prayer or worship or reading Scripture or all of the above. You could choose to do it a day or more than one day. However long the Lord would impress it upon your heart. Whatever you choose to do and for however long you choose to do it, I'd love to hear a testimony.
