II Chronicles Chapter 27 Always doing God's Work.
Finally, a king who walk steadfast with the Lord all his life. He didn't just start out strong but he finished strong as well. He stayed active doing work for the Lord. He rebuilt areas around the temple. He did extensive work on the wall. He built towns and forts. He won battles at war. He had respect from his enemies.
1st Corinthians 15:58 says therefore, my brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourself fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.
May we also be steadfast and keep busy doing the work of the Lord. As it says in this verse,
1. Don't let anything move us, and
2. Always give ourselves to the Lord so we can do God's work.
King Jotham and the other kings reminded me today of the parable of the talents. May we be like the faithful servant who was able to one day hear the words spoken in Matthew 25:21.
His master said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a little; I will set you over much. Enter into the joy of your master.’
