2nd Chronicles chapter 23. You are a leader!
You are a LEADER!
In this chapter, I see Jehoiada the priest as a hero and a great leader. He had a vision from God to restore the Lord's Temple and his people. He was respected by the people and was able to establish the true king to his Royal throne and kill the woman who led Judah astray.
Jehoiada:
- Had a vision from God.
*To bring order amongst God's people.
*To establish the proper King on the throne.
*To re-establish the priests at the temple.
*To re-establish Holiness and dedication to the Lord God.
*To destroy the evil and the false gods amongst the people.
- He was a leader.
*God used him to carry out the vision.
- He was respected by the people.
*He was able to gather many people to come alongside him in order to carry out God's vision.
Blair (or put your own name here):
- VISION: God, what is your vision for me? I don't want “a vision” but I want YOUR VISION for my life. Please empower me to be able to carry it out.
- LEADER: help me be the leader you want me to be in order to carry out your vision.
- RESPECT: May I be a man who is respected so that people would want to come alongside and be a part of your vision.
*Help me promote Holiness in an unholy world.
*May I never be ashamed or afraid to be a Christ follower.
*I pray for protection against those who will come against your plan of righteousness.
*Help me promote the love of Christ and repentance of sins in a world where people hate Jesus and hate Christians.
*I pray for your wisdom. I need your Holy Spirit. Help me I pray.

We read about how Jehoiada helped to restore order in this chapter. There are certain people who just seem to be on fire for God. I consider him to be one of them. May we be like that as the Holy Spirit leads us to live with an uncompromising faith in our world today.
I was reminded today of 2 Timothy 1:6-12.
For this reason I remind you to fan into flame the gift of God, which is in you through the laying on of my hands, for God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control. Therefore do not be ashamed of the testimony about our Lord, nor of me (Paul) His prisoner, but share in suffering for the gospel by the power of God, who saved us and called us to a holy calling, not because of our works but because of His own purpose and grace, which He gave us in Christ Jesus before the ages began, and which now has been manifested through the appearing of our Savior Christ Jesus, who abolished death and brought life and immortality to light through the gospel, for which I was appointed a preacher and apostle and teacher, which is why I suffer as I do. But I am not ashamed, for I know whom I have believed, and I am convinced that He is able to guard until that day what has been entrusted to me.
These were some dramatic moments in messianic history. Joash is the last survivor in David’s line. But God is faithful to His promises – he saved Joash from his murdering grandma, Athaliah. It’s hard to imagine so much evil. But it is so wonderful to know God is faithful and we can count on that!
