First Chronicles chapter 18.  Let it Go!  Let it Go!
David has many victories against the enemies around him.
Two things from this chapter:
1. God gave King David victory wherever he went which reminds me of the victory we have over sin and death through our faith in Jesus Christ. Romans 8:11 talks about how we have the same Spirit within us that raised Jesus from the dead. We have the same power of the Holy Spirit in helping us overcome any and every sin that binds us or holds us in bondage. I John 5:4 says through our faith in Jesus we are able to overcome the world and all that it throws at us to keep us down. The power of the Holy Spirit helps us overcome anything that tries to hold us in bondage. What are we trapped in? Addictions? Low self-esteem? No confidence? Hurts? Worry? Fear? Guess what? God will empower us to be over-comers.
2. The items of gold silver and bronze David acquired he dedicated to the Lord. When David dedicated it, it was devoted to the Lord. I understand it as you are giving what you have to the Lord as a way of saying, “I have what I have because of you, Lord. I don't have it because of my efforts. I have because of the Lord's efforts.
*To feel that what you have is because of your own effort is to be at risk of holding on to those items “because they are yours!”
*To feel what you have is because of God's efforts is to recognize it really belongs to the Lord and not yourself. Now you have the ability and freedom           to be able to give it away, if need be, to someone in need. Like a coat or something. Or you desire to use it for the glory of the Lord.
For example:
1. Things I value of my own possessions would be items related to hunting or Roberto Clemente. I want to be able to, if God so calls me, to give it away. I don't want to hold on to anything for all things are temporal. What we do for the kingdom is eternal.
2. My life belongs to the Lord so I dedicate my life to God as a way of saying oh, Lord, whatever you want to do in and through my life, that's what I want. I make myself available to you. I'll do whatever, I'll go wherever, I'll be whatever you call me to.
3. In fact, I dedicate all possessions including my house and car. I want to be able to use my house so people can come in and experience some kind of Revelation about the Lord. I want to be able to use my car to help those in need if God calls me.
When I go before the Lord, it won't matter how big my house was or how nice of a car I had. How was my house and car used for the glory of God?
Questions:
What am I holding on to? What sin? What possessions? What am I wanting to keep control of?
Let it go! Give it to the Lord!
