II KIngs Chapter 7 HOLY – FAITH – INSIGNIFICANT – MIRACLES
- The King/Leader failed to be a spiritual leader and was not holy before God which resulted in their people being seiged by the enemy the Arameans.
- The soldier of the king did not believe that God could do a miracle by providing an abundance of food and his lack of faith resulted in his death.
- 4 lepers were insignificant in the eyes of people in general. But God used them to reveal the good news of the seige being removed and the place of plunder was great in abundance with food and drink and valuables.
- The Arameans were removed by God through a miracle.
What misfortune is occurring in your life?
- Examine your own life first: Are you Holy? Do you need to repent of any sin?
- Do you have faith to believe God can intervene and deliver you, or heal you or make wrong right?
- Do you realize how significant you are and that God wants to use you to share good news. Are you willing to share a testimony to others so they can be encouraged and God's name can be glorified and praised?
- Do you believe God can do miracles?

Everything happened just as Elisha said that it would happen in this chapter. God is always right and it is always wise to listen to what He tells us in His Word.
I was encouraged more today from reading Proverbs 4:20-27.
“My son, be attentive to My words; incline your ear to My sayings. Let them not escape from your sight; keep them within your heart. For they are life to those who find them, and healing to all their flesh. Keep your heart with all vigilance, for from it flow the springs of life. Put away from you crooked speech, and put devious talk far from you. Let your eyes look directly forward, and your gaze be straight before you. Ponder the path of your feet; then all your ways will be sure. Do not swerve to the right or to the left; turn your foot away from evil.”
What a lesson in faith and sharing the Good News! We are so blessed … we have access to good Bible teaching, Christian bookstores, Christian schools. We have countless fellowship opportunities with other Christians. If we are not careful, we can be just like the lepers were initially in our reading today – devouring books, Bible studies, programs one after another while around us people are dying spiritually and headed for hell eternally. A wise pastor reminded us – the first two letters in “gospel” are “go”.
Lord, help me to take my eyes off myself, quit worrying about feeding myself and reach out to those who are dying. Help me to be bold in sharing my testimony, Father. (And thank You for the reminder to me in Your Word today!)
